Default: 1.0
Applicable to: Lighting

Specifies the amount of red tint to apply to the map's ambient cell lighting during ion storm (Tiberian Sun) or lightning storm (Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge). Default's to 1.0, which applies no tint. Higher values increase the amount of red tint, lower values decrease it.

Notes

  • Objects using the unit palette (unit*.pal) are not tinted. This includes all units and player-owned buildings, Tiberium/ore, etc. Therefore, it is recommended that the map's IonRed, IonGreen, and IonBlue values together average at 1.0, else these objects will stand out in a visually unpleasant way during a storm.
  • Negative values work, as long as at least one other color component (IonGreen or IonBlue) is above zero. Otherwise the map will appear pitch black.
