Marshall, a quick glance at the executable tells me this flag is still loaded from the INI and tested when a unit enters a cell covered in veins. I'm not sure if/how vein logic is actually triggered, I'll inspect that later, but I have a feeling the flag is set to yes on all default units because westwood simply made veinhole art invisible instead of removing the logic. If someone can confirm that there are cirumstances that allow this to work then that's great, however some comment was needed to note that it does not work without restrictions, which Nighthawk has much improved.
